It's that time of year again and I'm delighted to say I have submitted artwork to the largest online art sale in Ireland for my 3rd consecutive year!
Incognito is now in its 6th year and it helps raise vital funds for The Jack and Jill Children's foundation. It's wonderful to be a part of an exhibition, that showcases artwork not only from creatives in Ireland but from around the world also! Each contributor picking up their pens, paint brushes, pencils etc. to donate their time and creativity to create original artwork for this magnificent fundraiser.
I enjoy the freedom of creating art for this exhibition and take it as a opportunity to play and explore using different mark making methods and mediums. My 3 artworks last year - shown below - were vibrant, abstract and expressive using acrylic paint, pens and gold leaf. These were among an impressive 3000 plus submissions that were snapped up by the public at an epic speed!
Each original artwork is postcard-size and each cost €60. All profits from Incognito are used to fund Jack & Jill’s home nursing-care for very sick children, who do better at home, where they are well cared for by their parents and with critical support from Jack & Jill nurses and carers.
The sale is an opportunity for people to grow their art collection or discover their taste in art - finding a piece that they will enjoy and appreciate for years to come, by an artist they are yet to discover! The fun and exciting aspect of this art sale is that you won't know who created which artwork until the sale has ended hence the name Incognito! The Previous contributors have included Tracy Emin, The Edge, Alice Maher, Tommy Tiernan, Bruce and Pattie Springsteen - to name but a few.
This years exhibition goes LIVE on the 31st of March followed by the sale on the 21st of April. For more details visit www.incognito.ie or follow @jackandjillcf on Instagram.
